London, November 2013

November 2013 was a busy month for me. After going to Vilnius in Lithuania and Shenzhen and Hong Kong in China, I also spent a weekend in London.

Not much say here. Partly because I have been in London sufficiently often to not do touristic things and I try to avoid writing travel reports about me shopping, eating and drinking, but also because I spent an embarrassing amount of time sitting in my hotel room and watching the specials related to the Doctor Who 50th anniversary special.

But I had a late flight going back on Sunday and hadn't anything to do in the morning, so I visited the Globe theatre.

Not much to write about, but here are at least a couple of pictures.

A bit of an oddity are the pavement stones outside the building.

To help with raising funds for the theatre, they engraved the names of the sponsors in the stones. (Supposedly, the bigger the donation, the bigger the stone.) Names include John Cleese and Michael Palin, although the latter is misspelled.
